Like a swallow, this small city is cozily nestled in reddish rocks above a blue bay. A little over a thousand hectares of picturesque surroundings include everything one can desire for life: a beautiful, always warm sea, the luxurious beaches of the Côte d’Azur, magnificent mountains with vineyards and foot paths. This is a city at the European level with tropical palm trees and a subtropical coast at the same time.

Even back in the 5th century, the rocky bay of Théoule was considered to be a secure fortress. An observatory protecting berthed ships was destroyed in 1648. Since then, Théoule, like many other places in the Cote d’Azur has been a sleepy fishing village. Perhaps, since those times it has kept the quiet tranquility which favors rest so much. There are no special landmarks in its history, except for when they wired the city for electricity and built a road; and evacuation of the inhabitants during the Second World War. After this date, the principal events in the chronicles of Théoule are reelections of mayors and visits of celebrities… The residents of Théoule are calm, easygoing and companionable; and thanks to this atmosphere, Théoule is one of the world’s tourist capitals.
The magnificent red beaches of Théoule have been well known for more than 100 years. Ships passing by and private yachts sailing inshore are signaled by an old lighthouse, which is also built of red stone.

A little above the harbor, where a gradual ascent towards mountains starts, there are private residences covered in gardens. The fresh wind of the Mediterranean Sea blends here with scents of fruits and flowers, and the air itself turns into restorative balm.
Above the lush greenery rise the red spires of Сhâteau des Mineurs. This is a high-class recreation center, well known in the Côte d’Azur. Two centuries ago it was a soap factory, but now there is no industry in these places: the beach deposits in the south of France are one of the most ecologically clean places of Europe and the world.
Balneotherapy, or spa treatments is well developed here. Swimming in natural mineral water springs was well known even in Roman times. Crystal clear mountain springs give health, vivacity and longevity. One more great way of vitalizing yourself is a stroll in the mountains. There are 23 km of organized footpaths around Théoule; they are located so that magnificent views are available from every viewpoint. The same way promenades for members of the royal family were planned! As you go up into these hills (maximum height is 440 m above sea level) you can not only enjoy magnificent views of red cliffs and turquoise sea that gradually open to your eyes, but also strengthen your respiratory system.
There are four beaches between bays and rocks. For active lifestyle enthusiasts, there is a sailing club, diving center, motor boats, water skiing, a riding stable and golf courses in Théoule. You can simply go hiking to see the cork oak and sea pine forests and visit old villages. The outskirts of Théoule are considered to be the most beautiful in the Côte d’Azur.
The color of Théoule is the color of its rocks. It is as red as a heart, because this small piece of paradise can really become the best in the world for you.
